this guy is my other half and i mean that with everything i have. i’ve known him for over a year now, and at this point i can’t see myself with anyone else but him. he means everything to me, he’s my entire fucking world and i would be nothing if it weren’t for him. he’s kept me sane this whole time. i never thought that we’d actually have our chance, or that i’d fall in love with my absolute best friend but i’m glad i did. i’m glad we went through all the fights, all of the jealousy, i’m just glad we went through the hard times together. i’m glad we fought the miles between us. to this day, i still find myself getting butterflies when his name just pops up on my phone. he’s everything i’ve ever dreamed of having and more. i’m the luckiest girl in the world, there’s no questioning it. sometimes the unexpected things in life happen to be the greatest. long distance relationships do work. 3,000 miles couldn’t separate us. cody ryan landaker, i love you with everything i have.

I just finished getting ready for prom. But not just any prom, my girlfriend’s prom. The girl that lives 3,000 miles away from my home state. And I kind of just wanted to say something really quick. Distance doesn’t mean SHIT if the boy/girl means the world to you. Nicole and I have been talking about this prom since the summer of ‘11, which was way before we started dating. Almost a whole year later, look at us. Nicole and I have known each other for over a year now, been dating for three months (STRONG I might add.) and I’ve flown to New Jersey twice now, NOT for a concert that wasn’t coming to Oregon, NOT for someone who lives close that I’ve wanted to hang out with, but for her. Only her. Why? Because I’ve never met someone in my whole entire life who cares about me more than anything in their life, who’d take a bullet for me, who’d do anything just to see me smile. She’s the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. Externally and internally. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life. I’ll do anything for this girl. But my ultimate point behind this, is that distance doesn’t need to be a deciding factor in a relationship. Or even a friendship. Yes, dating someone across the country from you is hard, but if you keep an optimistic outlook on the relationship/friendship, everything will be fine. Don’t let distance come between someone who means everything to you. Always remember that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Trust me on that.
